Qiliqti Ivalu

Qiliqti carefully lays out each dog's harness in a fan shape around the front of the sled, before untying each dog and harnessing them one by one. The dogs leap and bark in their excitement to be harnessed and begin working. Once they have come back from running, Qiliqti unharnessed each dog, putting them back on their tethers before coiling up the harnesses and rope and then feeding all the dogs their dinner.

We follow Qiliqti from his home, out onto the ice to get the dogs ready for going out. Getting each dog into their harness before setting off. We travel along on the sled, watching the snow pass by as the dogs work together to pull the sled.

We travel with the team by sled to Coxe Island, the dogs working hard to pull the sled up hills and through rough sections. Travelling through deep snow, by the time they get back to town the dogs are exhausted, quiet, as Qiliqti unharnessed them.

Traveling along, we watch as Qiliqti untangles the dogs lines as they continue to pull the sled, pulling them closer to work on the lines. Working together the dogs cover ground, through the snow, going anyway that Qiliqti directs them.
